The short version: I collect what I need to run this program and nothing else. I don't sell your information, I don't rent it, and I don't hand your email to a "partner" so they can pitch you next Tuesday. If you want your data gone, email me and it's gone.
1. Information I collect
I collect information you hand me directly, plus a small amount of standard technical information that any website receives.
Information you give me
- Application information. When you apply for the Backend Blueprint Cohort through the application form, you provide your name, email address, phone number, business or brand name, website or LinkedIn profile, time zone, and your written answers about your work, your experience, and your goals.
- Enrollment and billing information. If you are approved and you enroll, you provide billing details and, for the Speaker plus Team Bundle, the names and email addresses of the team members you are bringing with you.
- Correspondence. Anything you send me by email, phone, or text message.
- Program participation. Homework you submit, questions you ask during live sessions, and your participation in the live Zoom sessions.
Information collected automatically
- Standard server log data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the pages you viewed on this site.
- Basic analytics about how visitors move through the site, used in aggregate to understand what's working and what isn't.
2. How I use it
I use your information to:
- Review your application and decide whether the cohort is a fit for you and for the room.
- Send you an approval or a decline, and if approved, the enrollment and payment details.
- Deliver the program: Zoom access, the workbook, templates, homework, replays, and your completion badge.
- Communicate with you about the cohort you enrolled in, including schedule changes and session reminders.
- Process payment and issue receipts.
- Answer your questions and provide support.
- Improve the program and the site.
- Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
If you opt in to my email list, I'll also send you occasional emails about future cohorts, trainings, and resources. You can unsubscribe from those at any time using the link in any email. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not stop the operational emails about a program you're actively enrolled in.
3. Who else touches it
I use a small set of third party services to run this business. They receive only what they need to do their job, and they are bound by their own privacy terms. These include:
- Google (Google Forms, Google Workspace, and analytics) for the application form, email, and site measurement.
- Zoom for the live sessions.
- Payment processors for handling your payment. I do not store your full card number. That stays with the processor.
- Email service providers for sending program communications.
- Web hosting providers that store this site and its server logs.
I may also disclose information if the law requires it, if I need to respond to a valid legal process, or if it's necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of myself, my clients, or others.
4. I do not sell your information
I do not sell your personal information. I do not rent it, trade it, or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. I have been online for over twenty years and I have watched plenty of people build lists off other people's trust. That is not how I operate.
5. Cookies and tracking
This site may use cookies and similar technologies for basic functionality and to understand aggregate traffic patterns. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as intended if you do.
This site does not respond to Do Not Track browser signals, because there is still no consistent industry standard for what that response should be.
6. How long I keep it
- Applications that are approved and enrolled: kept for the duration of the program and for as long as needed to meet tax and record keeping requirements, generally seven years.
- Applications that are declined or withdrawn: kept for up to twelve months in case you reapply for a future cohort, then deleted.
- Waitlist information: kept until you ask me to remove it or until the waitlist for that program closes.
- Marketing email subscribers: kept until you unsubscribe.
7. Security
I take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using established platforms with their own security practices and limiting who can access your data. That said, no method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely secure, and I'm not going to tell you otherwise. If there's a breach that affects your personal information, I will notify you as required by law.
8. Your rights and choices
Regardless of where you live, you can ask me to:
- Tell you what personal information I hold about you.
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your information, subject to any records I am legally required to keep.
- Stop sending you marketing email.
Email me at email@askreginabaker.com and I'll take care of it. I may need to verify your identity first so I'm not handing your information to someone pretending to be you.
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Virginia, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have additional rights, including the right to know what categories of personal information have been collected and the right to be free from discrimination for exercising your rights. Since I do not sell or share your personal information for cross context behavioral advertising, there is nothing for you to opt out of on that front.
9. Children
This program is for working adults. This site and this program are not directed to anyone under 18, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, email me and I will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
If I update this policy, I will change the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant and affects people who are actively enrolled, I will notify enrolled participants by email. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
11. Contact
Questions about this policy, or about your information, go straight to me.
